OVERVIEW
Head north from Lisbon and drive for 90 minutes to the quaint village of Nazaré, now famous for its big waves. Once we arrive in Nazaré, we'll visit Sítio, where you can admire breathtaking views and learn about the history and traditions of this beautiful fishing town.
We will also stop at the São Miguel Arcanjo Fortress and visit the big wave surfboard exhibition.
There will be time to watch surfers tackle the big waves if there is a big swell.
ITINERARY
The pick-up is scheduled for 8.30m at your hotel or other pre-arranged location.
- We’ll be departing from Lisbon, taking the highway for a 90-minute drive to Nazaré.
- Along the way, we’ll stop at Alcobaça (optional) and visit the XII-century church and admire the King Pedro and Queen Inês tombs. We will not visit the monastery unless you request it.
- You'll have free time to explore the town square and indulge in the local Convent Sweets
- Next, we’ll drive for 20 minutes to Nazaré.
- We’ll stop at Sítio da Nazaré to admire the magnificent view over the cliff
- We’ll visit São Miguel Arcanjo Fortress to see the big wave surfboard exhibit. From there, we’ll enjoy the view of Praia do Norte, the famous big wave surf spot.
- We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
- After lunch, we’ll drive for 15 minutes to São Martinho and make a photo stop.
- We’ll then drive 15 minutes to Óbidos for a walking tour. There will also be free time to explore.
- Finally, we’ll return to Lisbon.

Cancellation PolicyCancellations and Refunds If you cancel your booking up to 1 day before the scheduled tour date, you will receive a full refund of any payments made. If a cancellation occurs within 1 day before the activity, or in case of a "no show" situation, no refund will be offered. For bigger groups (more than 8 people) we require a deposit of 30% of the total amount to confirm the booking. The booking deposit is not refundable if cancellation is made 7 days or less before the tour date. The remaining balance must be paid before or during the tour day. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to vagabondinglisboa@gmail.com. Changes to the tour date or booking after confirmation are subject to availability and may incur additional fees. Bad Weather ConditionsWe operate tours rain or shine. Cancellations due to extreme weather conditions will only happen in a National or Local Emergency. In this case, you will be 100% reimbursed.
